Frequently asked questions

Q: What happens to the current switches in the house if I install this system ?

A: They work as they have always done. Our system works in tandem with the physical switches, so you can use either to control your devices.

Q: I move houses every six months. How portable is the system?

A: It's quite easy to move inoho from one home to another. All it takes is changing a few wire connections.

Q: I'd like to try out inoho, but don't want to do the entire house in a single go. What do I do ?

A: For trying out, we suggest you start with a single switchboard module. Switchboard modules are plug and play, so you can keep adding them to your home when you feel like it.

Q: Hmmm...do I need a wifi router at home for the system to work ?

A: Yes, a wifi router is required. The home controller needs to be connected to the wifi router through a lan cord.

Q: OK, what happens if the internet network is down? Will the system work without internet?

A: When you are at home, then no internet is required, as your phone and the home controller would be on the same wifi network. But when you are out of the home, then both the home controller and the phone will need internet access to talk to each other.

Q: I get very weak wifi signal in my room, sometimes none at all, can I install the switchboard module there ?

A: Yes, you can. Inoho works on zigbee, with the mesh network enabled. Simply put, each switchboard module acts as a repeater for the home controller signal (similar to a wifi repeater), so the wifi signal strength is immaterial.

Q: Will I need to be in vicinity of the switchboard to turn on or off the connected electrical devices?

A: No, being in vicinity is not required at all. In fact, you can control your electrical devices from anywhere in the world.
